§ 26-25. Contempt of court.

  • (a)

    Any person:

    (1)

    Failing or refusing to respond to any ticket, summons or subpoena issued by any police officer or the court;

    (2)

    Failing or refusing to appear under the terms and conditions of an appearance bond; or

    (3)

    Failing or refusing to obey or comply with any order given in any court whether verbal or written;

    shall be in contempt of the court, unless excused by the municipal judge for good cause.

    (b)

    Any person who fails or refuses to pay any fine levied by the court in the manner prescribed by the court shall be guilty of a separate and distinct misdemeanor and shall be punished at the discretion of the court.
