§ 26-18. Failure of witness to appear after notice.

  • It shall be unlawful for any person to fail and refuse to appear before the municipal judge as a witness in any case, after having been lawfully served with a summons issued by the municipal judge, requiring such appearance at a time and place therein fixed. Any person found guilty of violating this section shall be subject to fine and imprisonment by the municipal judge as for contempt of court; provided that, there shall be no conviction under this section where the accused witness shows good cause for failing to appear in response to the summons so served upon him.
