§ 26-12. Duties of police in connection with court.

  • The chief of police or any police officer designated by him shall be in attendance at all sessions of the municipal court. The chief of police and the policemen of the city shall be subject to the orders of the municipal court, and shall execute the orders, writs and mandates thereof, and shall perform such other duties in connection with the municipal court as may be prescribed by this Code or any other ordinance of the city. The chief of police and the policemen of the city shall also be vested with the same powers and duties which are now or which may hereafter be devolved upon magistrate's constables.
